hi, I’m Jema

I’m an occupational therapist working in remote and regional schools across the Northern Territory.

I graduated from Curtin University in 2019, started out in private practice, then moved into NDIS work. In 2023 I packed up and moved to Darwin, and in 2025 I started working in schools. These days I spend a lot of my time on the road and in the air, visiting schools out bush.

A big part of my work is with Aboriginal students, families and school staff. I’m always learning, and I believe the best support starts with listening to the people who know a student best.

what is build up therapy?

build up therapy is where I share the strategies, ideas and little wins from my work: plain-language OT, practical tips for classrooms and home, and a look at what remote OT is really like.

It’s all about building up the skills that help students thrive, one small win at a time.
